01
DETERMINE YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL
When starting a training program, what’s your long-term goal? Don’t be shy, dare to dream big! A Jessica Rabbit figure? Have the energy of an F5 tornado? Sculpting pipes worthy of Rambo? Everyone has a personal goal, and this one will be crucial to igniting the flame of your motivation.
02
BREAK THIS GOAL DOWN INTO SMALL VICTORIES
Not just anyone can become a six-pack! Let’s face it: reaching your ultimate goal could take several months, even years. How can you avoid throwing in the towel over time? By setting yourself small goals along the way. Examples: change your weight by ten on the scale, move back one hole on your belt, gain one inch on your bicep circumference… You’ll see, each small success will give you the energy you need to propel you towards the next victory.
03
HONOR YOUR COMMITMENTS
A great enemy of your success? Lack of time. Make sure you can count on yourself! Plan ahead. Define a realistic training frequency and duration, and integrate your sessions into your weekly routine.
PRO TIP
Because every week is unique, take a few minutes over the weekend to plan your next sessions around your commitments. Take the opportunity to draw up a game plan for your weekly menu! You’ll see, it’s much easier to stay on track when you know where you’re going.
04
JOIN A GROUP
Willpower alone has its limits. There’s nothing like the group effect to boost motivation! Why not plan some workouts with friends? Joining communities on social networks that share common interests or fitness goals is also an excellent strategy.
PRO TIP
In addition to offering you a clear, proven game plan, the B.A.S.E. training program by Hugo Girard offers its subscribers exclusive access to a Facebook group that is first and foremost a space for mutual support and motivation in the pursuit (and achievement!) of your health goals.
